Scientists at the Stanford Prevention Research Center (SPRC) are looking for T-Mobile customers to participate in a study to evaluate the use of small motion sensors (accelerometers) that measure physical activity and inactivity 24/7 and transmit data to a mobile phone. Volunteers who are interested and eligible will receive a new HTC Touch Diamond2 mobile phone and monthly reimbursement throughout the study for their phone bill ($75.00/month to cover unlimited data/web, unlimited text and a portion of voice costs).

You, your family or friends may be eligible if you are:

  • 18 years or older.
  • T-Mobile user with at least 1 year left on contract.
  • Willing to participate in 8-month study by wearing small sensors on your wrist and ankle and keeping your mobile phone with you throughout the day.
  • Residing for the duration of the study within San Francisco, San Mateo, or Santa Clara counties.
  • Willing to make at least 3 visits to SPRC (in Palo Alto) during study.

If this study is of interest to you, please complete the ELIGIBILITY QUESTIONNAIRE and submit for review by study staff. Once your questionnaire is reviewed for eligibility, you will receive a phone call or e-mail from the study coordinator and the next step is to schedule an appointment for an orientation session. Complete study information can be found in the Informed Consent.
